We pledge to you (“You”, “user”) that we will meet fully with the requirements of the Personal Data (“Privacy”) Ordinance, Chapter 486 of the Laws of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. In doing so, we will ensure compliance by its officers and staff to the strictest standards of security and confidentiality in respect of any confidence personal data through the Website.
This Privacy Policy Statement is important and you should read it carefully to understand the privacy Policy of GigGik and practices regarding how the personal information provided by you will be handled in the Website.
This Privacy Statement is applicable to both registered and unregistered users, and it may be updated, revised, reposted, varied and/or amended from time to time as GigGik may deem necessary.
If there is any inconsistency between the English version and the Chinese version of this Statement, the English version shall prevail.
Collection of Personal Data

By accessing, using, uploading, downloading or registering through or at the Website (generally referred to as “using the Website”), or by clicking the Sign up or Registration or Agree button(s), you agree to this Privacy Policy Statement, our Terms of Use, membership or subscription registration; allow GigGik or the Website to assist you for Job Seeking or Offering, as appropriate according to your identity or selection, and any other promotion, update or alert which you specifically allowed, and for contest or sweepstakes.
GigGik collects reasonable information about you that is personally identifiable and in relation to Job Seekers, it may include but not limited to the following:
- Name
- Email Address
- Phone number
- Age
- Gender
- Date of Birth
- Country of residence
- Nationality
- Education
- Work Experience
- Current and expected salary
- Identity reference
- Qualification
Occasionally and for specific purpose only, GigGik may also collect additional personal information and/or data from users to connect with any contests, surveys, or special offers. GigGik will strive to maintain information as accurately as possible and only for as long as it is required and legally allowed.

In the course of using the Website, you may disclose or be asked to provide personal information and/or data including abovementioned. Most of the information are not compulsory unless we are obliged to obtain them, such as pursuant to legal requirements or for identity verification, and if we do not allow option to ignore or bypass, it is only because without such information, it is either in breach of rule or law, or it is difficult for GigGik to assist on Job Seeking or Offering or operating our services on or through the Website.
In a non-exhaustive summary, GigGik’s purposes for collecting and using the personal information and/or data that provided by you on the Website include but are not limited to:
- To assist and support daily operation of the Website and its services;
- To survey and analyze your usage of the Website in order to help its further development;
- To assist GigGik with developments for marketing, promotion, improvement, development and strategic positioning or other business purposes;
- To verify the identity of users on the Website;
- To collect data for identify ratification and records;
- To hand and follow up on services, enquiries and complaints;
- To assist our membership program and services to members or registered users;
- To meet with any legal, governmental or regulatory requirements in Hong Kong or any other applicable jurisdiction, including but not limited to company law, privacy law, employment law, or other disclosure or notification requirements;
- To provide information for internal use, including chat or bulletin boards, editorial and feedback purposes.
Disclosure and Transfer of Personal Information and/or Data
We only disclose, transfer, allow access of any of your personal information and/or data to our business partners and GigGik personnel, officers, agent, advisor or related parties for purpose of operating GigGik and the Website, or providing services to you and only upon specific requests for such information and/or data and only if and when you have given specific or general consent.
The Website may contain links to other third-party websites or source of information. We are not responsible for their contents or their privacy Policy or how they treat the personal information and/or data about their users.
Online Job Applications
All users of the Website can view Job Offering or advertisements, and the Website allows you to make online applications to Job posted. It is free of charge to Job Seekers and an optional service but it requires Job Seekers to complete mandatory fields (For example full name, contact phone number and email of applicant etc, which is also subject to the request by the Job Offerors) so that Job Offerors can identify and contact the Job Seekers.
Talent CRM
The GigGik “Talent CRM” function allows Job Offerors advertising at GigGik to search and view our members’ information in their Profile and CV. Our members also can decide what information can be searched and viewed by Job Offerors according to the privacy settings as described below, which will be subject to constant review and upgrade and you should check the features in the Website.
Standard
The Job Seeker’s Profile and CV (except name and contact information) can be seen by Job Offerors using GigGik’s “Talent CRM”. If Job Offerors wishes to purchase access to Job Seeker’s Profile, the full Profile including CV and contact information will be shown to the relevant Job Offerors by using the “Buy profile” function. Additionally, Job Offerors can also elect to send a job invitation which they are recruiting by using the “Send Job Ad” function.
Limited
All Job Offerors can view the Job Seekers’ Profile (except name, contact information and CV) and Job Offerors may elect to send a job invitation which they are recruiting by using the “Send Job Ad” function. However, due to the privacy setting, Job Offerors cannot purchase access to the Job Seekers’ full Profile and CV.
Private
The Profile (including name, contact information and CV) is completely hidden. Job Offerors cannot purchase access to Job Seekers’ Profile or send the job opportunities.
Job Seekers may receive a notification when an Job Offerors using “Buy Profile” function to view their full Profile and CV (including name, contact information). Job Seekers may also receive a notification when Job Offerors advertising at GigGik by using “Send Job Ad”, in accordance with the aforementioned “Talend CRM” privacy settings. Job Seekers may decide to grant approval, reject or ignore the invitation.
Where a profile has been bought by a Job Offeror, or the Job Seeker who has replied to a job invitation sent by a Job Offeror or applied for jobs directly on the Website by using the Profile, that Job Offeror will have access to the latest Profile, including the contact information (as updated by Job Seeker from time to time).
Job Seekers can modify their Profile information, CV and/or the privacy options in relation to their profile anytime at GigGik.
GigGik will endeavor to ensure Job Offerors advertising at GigGik understand their legal obligations regarding the use and disclosure of members’ personal information. However, GigGik will not accept any responsibility for any violations of such legal obligations by Job Offerors advertising at GigGik.
Access and Correction of Data
Under the Ordinance, any user is entitled to request access to or make amendments to their own personal information and/or data kept with GigGik by contacting the Customer Service Executive of GigGik’s Customer Service Department. According to the Policy below, users may alternatively update, amend or delete their personal information and/or data at any time by logging into “My GigGik” section of the Website.
In case a user wishes to access or amend their personal information and/or data, GigGik may request users to provide personal details in order to verify and confirm their identity. Identity card number or passport number or business registration certificate number cannot be amended unless such data is proved to be inaccurate.
Links to Other Websites and platforms
The Sites may provide links to other websites / media platforms / applications which are not owned or controlled by the Company. Personal Information and data from Users may be collected on these other websites / media platforms / applications when Users visit such websites / media platforms / applications and make use of the services provided therein. Where and when Users decide to click on any advertisement or hyperlink on the Sites which grants Users access to other websites / media platforms / applications, the protection of User’s personal information and data which are deemed to be private and confidential may be exposed in these other websites / media platforms / applications.
Non-registered Users who gain access to the Sites via their accounts in online social networking tools are deemed to have consented to the terms of Privacy Policy, and such Users’ personal data which they have provided to those networking tools may be obtained by the Company and be used by the Company and its authorized persons in and outside of the User’s country for the purpose of providing services and marketing materials to the Users. These Users are deemed to have consented to the Company and its authorized personnel’s access and use of their personal data so obtained, subject to the other provisions of the Privacy Policy.
This Privacy Policy is only applicable to the Sites. Users are reminded that this Privacy Policy grants no protection to Users’ personal information and data that may be exposed on websites / media platforms / applications other than the Sites, and the Company is not responsible for the privacy practices of such other websites / media platforms / applications. Users are strongly recommended to refer to the privacy policy of such other websites / media platforms / applications. The Company assumes no responsibility or liability for Users’ use of such other websites / media platforms / applications.

The security of users’ personal information and/or data is important to GigGik. Our staff and any relevant person are under a duty of confidentiality to GigGik, and we maintain a strict confidentiality policy of all information collected from the Website and will ensure that they comply with the security Policy.
GigGik has implemented appropriate electronic and managerial measures in order to safeguard, protect and secure users’ personal information and/or data. However, you agree that there is no perfect security measure, and we cannot guarantee zero breach or intentional breach by our staff and relevant person, or by outsiders.
Changes in this Privacy Policy Statement
GigGik reserves the right to update, revise, modify or amend this Privacy Policy Statement at any time as GigGik deems necessary, so users should read thoroughly to understand this Privacy Policy Statement of GigGik. If GigGik decides to update, revise, modify or amend this Privacy Policy Statement, GigGik will post those changes to this Website so that users would be aware of the updates.
If GigGik makes material changes to this Privacy Policy Statement, GigGik will notify you on this Website, by email, or by means of a notice on the home page of GigGik and/or take further action as required by law.
